Born in Paris in 1985, Victoria Wilmotte lives and works in Paris. She studied at the Camondo School in Paris, and later at the Royal College of Art in London. In 2009, Victoria Wilmotte created her studio in Paris. The signature of VW has become a brand through many personal creations and collaborations with numerous clients. In 2015, she opened her production atelier where she designs and realizes limited series, small-scale productions, and the development of prototypes. Victoria has always developed a special interest in materials, shapes, and manufacturing processes, both industrial and artisanal. Mineral and steel remain a field she particularly prefers, and she has a methodical fascination and meticulous approach to that of a sculptor, which led to the collaboration with the Daum manufacturer. Today, she conveys her sculptural and radical style in crystal, with the ultra contemporary collection. Victoria Wilmotte’s design merges with the ancestral know-how of the Daum manufacturer to offer a series of coloured vases with straight lines and sharp angles that rewrite with great elegance, the codes of the Maison.
Since 1878, Daum has created world renown art pieces out of their crystal studio in Nancy, France. Every crystal piece by Daum is signed with "Daum France" to signify its origin and quality. Pâte de cristal is a Daum speciality; a precious material that gives their creations a sculptural depth and dimension, which has been refined unceasingly over time. Pâte de cristal has the quality of giving translucency to the forms it reproduces and the brilliance of this material, the intensity of colors and the myriad subtile shades all contribute to Daum’s unique methods.
